EMIEN N METALS

Emien Nye is a metalsmith who studied silversmithing at the University for Creative Arts, Farnham. His work revolves around the deep relationship between craftsman, tool, and material that can be found through the making process. Because of this his work has a strong focus on showcasing how each piece is made through the piece itself. Strong hammer marks, accentuated solder seams, and unconventional shapes, are all signatures of his work. Despite this more modern approach, he is inspired by historical metalwork, craft through history being a way of connecting with the past as a way to look to the future.
