ABOUT
Artist statement
The driving inspiration behind my work is and has always been a love of craft, a love of making, a love of the process. It may not always be at the core of what I create, as I believe that metal is a very powerful medium to communicate ideas and stories too, but it is always there as a part of each object I make. There is something about the act of creation that is so universal yet unique that I find it hard to understand how it isn't inspiring to others.

I also often find myself looking to the past when I approach my work. I love learning about the historical processes, traditional methods of making, everything that is made has a story, and often that is the maker's story. Using the same processes and techniques as the craftsmen that have come before me feels like a way of preserving their legacy, and becoming a part of something greater.
